Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Julius Nyerere International Airport
On your arrival at Dar es Salaam Airport, you'll be met by a friendly driver who will escort you to the Dar es Salaam hotel and help you check-in. Whether you'd like to explore the city or get some rest it's up to you, but tomorrow your real Tanzanian adventure begins!
Day 2: Flight from Dar es Salaam to Mpanda - Katavi National Park
With an early start to the day, transfer to the airport for your flight to Katavi National Park.Flight Departure Time: 07:00 Arrival Time: 08:45 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday) A Katavi Wildlife Camp guide will be waiting at the airstrip to greet you and take you on a game drive towards the camp for check-in.
Once settled into your room, head out on an afternoon game drive departing at 16:00, arriving back at dusk just in time for sundowners.
Day 3 & 4: Katavi National Park
During your time staying at Katavi Wildlife Camp choose between half-day shared game drives or full-day with picnic lunch promising an action-packed day out in the unscripted Tanzanian bush.
Early Morning Game Drives: Departing at 06:30 with a picnic breakfast, returning at 11:30
Morning Game Drives: Departing after breakfast at 08:30, returning in time for lunch.
Afternoon Game Drives: Departing at 16:00 and returning at dusk, in time for sundowners.
Full-Day Game Drives: Departing after breakfast at 08:30 with a picnic lunch, returning at 16:00 for afternoon tea.
Day 5: Fly to Ruaha National Park
With an early start to the day, enjoy an early morning game drive to the airstrip for your flight to Ruaha National Park. Flight Departure Time: 10:40 Arrival Time 12:25.
A guide from Ruaha River Lodge will be at the airstrip waiting to greet you and take you on a game drive through the park before helping you check into your room.
In the afternoon you will go out and begin to explore Tanzania's largest national park with a game drive before returning to camp at dusk, just in time to freshen up before drinks around the campfire.
Day 6 & 7: Ruaha National Park
During your stay at Ruaha River Lodge choose between half-day shared game drives or full-day experiences in Ruaha National Park, with a picnic lunch enabling you to explore further afield in this enormous wilderness.
Early Morning Game Drives: Departing at 06:30 with a picnic breakfast, returning at 11:30
Morning Game Drives: Departing after breakfast at 08:30, returning in time for lunch
Afternoon Game Drives: Departing at 16:00 and returning at dusk, in time for sundowners.
Full-Day Game Drives: Departing after breakfast at 08:30 with a picnic lunch, returning at 16:00 for afternoon tea.
Day 8: Fly to Zanzibar Island
After breakfast you will have the chance to enjoy one final game drive through Ruaha, as you slowly wind your way to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar Island via Dar Es Salaam. Flight Departure Time: 13:15 Arrival Time: 15:45. Upon arrival, you will be met by your lodge driver who will transfer to your hotel/lodge.
Relax at your accommodation or choose from one of the many extra optional activities available on this unique island. Overnight Zanzibar Island.
Day 9 & 10: Zanzibar Island
Relax by the sea or pool or optional activities. Zanzibar Island is part of Tanzania’s Mafia Archipelago, in the Indian Ocean. Large swaths of the island’s southern coastline and surrounding waters are protected by the Zanzibar Island Marine Park. Within the park are many coral reefs, home to wildlife such as whale sharks and sea turtles.
Day 11: Zanzibar Island to Zanzibar International Airport
Morning breakfast and relaxation before transferred to Sheikh Abeid Karume international Airport for catching your flight back home.
